Scoping my Knee – repost from June 8th

I have had significant knee pain since March. I finally have the results back from the MRI and I have a torn meniscus. My knee has been bothering me for a number of years. I couldn’t tell whether it was bio-mechanical or if there was a real issue. The MRI also showed “garbage” in the knee. Doctor said that he may flush the knee as well to remove the garbage.

Surgery is scheduled for next week. I will be glad to get it over with. I am supposed to be able to get back to training in a month. I will need to find a race to set for a goal. I am really going crazy not exercising.

Being injured sure crimps a training blog

Well we were doing good with the slow running. Then Mrs. Tripolii decided she wanted a cat. She has been wanting an animal for a while. She knows she has allergies but thought maybe they were gone. Anyway she had an allergic reaction to the cat and as a result got a sinus infection and quit running.

I have been having planer fasciitis and knee issues. Very frustrating to be a human being some times :) . I am supposed to get MRI results and new orthotics next week. Actually would prefer to have a torn meniscus because then they could fix it. If it is arthritis, I am sol.

More to come next week.

Finally got a run in

Finally got a three mile run in. It was painful and slow but got it done.

It’s still to cold

I screwed up this weekend. I had a 10 mile run to get in this weekend. It was cool but nice Saturday afternoon, but I didn’t go for my run, I took the baby and dog for a long walk. I thought it was supposed to be nice on Sunday and my legs were sore. But it turned out to be freezing on Sunday (23 degrees with 10-15 mile per our winds out of North) making it way to cold to go out with the baby. So no run. This is going to make Martian half impossible. I can run the 10k but even that will be slow. I am going to need to shift to the Dextor-Ann Arbor run on May 31st.

6 miles today on ice and snow

Got 6 miles in today on ice and snow. Good thing it as dark when I started running, because the ice would have probably kept me from doing. As it was I was semi-ignorant of how icy it was and just did it. Good news is that I didn’t fall in spite of several slides. It did make for a slow run.
